Gluten free Toronto, Canada: A #nimatested Dining Guide
The food scene in Toronto is really good and I was excited to find that a lot of places claim to be able to produce a gluten-free meal I have coeliac disease. Sadly I was ‘glutened’ by two places that made this claim – one I’d eaten at successfully the day before The Burgernator. Not wanting to spend my whole holiday on Lara bars, I risked a bratwurst at Otto’s. The staff were very knowledgeable about gluten-contamination issues, but then they seemed so at the other places I’d tried. I didn’t get ‘glutened’ at Otto’s on all 4 occasions I ate there. My son enjoyed the doner, and enjoyed it thoroughly and repeatedly, with fries on the side and inside. Very highly recommended for food quality, location and gluten-freeness! Having read good reviews, we decided to try Otto’s and were most let down. The doner meat was tasteless and greasy; there was absolutely no flavour or seasoning to the meat and the portion was small. The wrap was excellent and the fixings fine.
